MISSION

The mission of the Chandler School is to provide each student with the highest quality and most academically challenging education in a nurturing, balanced and diverse environment. We strive to have our students gain a love of learning, a means of thinking independently and an ability to work collaboratively. A Chandler education seeks to develop good character, self- reliance and a commitment to community in students as a foundation for academic and personal success.

GOALS
  • To uphold the Chandler tradition of academic excellence and intellectual discipline in a program that develops the mind, body and spirit.
  • To promote respect, trustworthiness, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship, which are the core values of our school community.
  • To foster an educational environment that values and communicates respect for racial, religious, cultural and economic differences.
  • To serve the greater community, in recognition that as much is given to us, much is expected from us.

CHALLENGING, CARING, COMMITTED

THE CHANDLER CODE

The Chandler School is concerned with each child and strives to develop an atmosphere in which children develop self-esteem, as well as respect for their peers as individuals. Chandler expects high standards of behavior, courtesy and academic performance. Discipline is firm within a relaxed, friendly atmosphere of mutual trust. The standards of behavior, the expectations of interpersonal relationships and moral values are embodied in the Chandler Code written by students.
As a student at the Chandler School,
    I shall respect
      myself,
      other people as individuals,
      the property of others,
my school for what it is and
      what it stands for.
I shall always respect and uphold
      the Honor System.
    I am responsible for
what I say and do to other people,
      doing my own work,
being loyal to my school and school mates,
showing good sportsmanship at all times.

THE SIX PILLARS OF CHARACTER

The Chandler School has chosen to complement the Chandler Code by joining Character Counts! Character Counts! is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, nonsectarian coalition of schools and community organizations working to advance character education by teaching the Six Pillars of Character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship. By exploring the values found in the Six Pillars Chandler students, faculty, and staff commit themselves to following the Chandler Code.

As members of the Character Counts! Coalition we are committed to seeking opportunities to integrate character education into new and existing programs and to encourage Chandler students and their families to live in accordance with core ethical values (The Six Pillars).

Communication

In keeping with the goals and objectives of the Chandler School’s mission and philosophy, the Chandler faculty and administrative staff are readily available to parents. If there is a question or concern regarding your child you are encouraged to contact the appropriate teacher. If you have any questions or concerns about the school please contact the Head of School, the Assistant Head of School or the Lower School Director.
