MISSION

The Chandler Afterschool Program meets the needs of all children with regard to their level of development, their individuality, and the cultural diversity among them.

PHILOSOPHY

The Chandler Afterschool Program offers a fun, safe and nurturing environment for children to be while their parents are at work. We promote a balanced, supportive and active learning environment where children are encouraged to learn and discover through materials and activities that challenge them to try novel ideas and foster creativity. Children have the opportunity to play with friends and relax at the end of the day. The program also allows children to have the opportunity to do homework with assistance. The Chandler Afterschool Program gives children the chance to make choices to work alone, in small groups, or in large groups engaged in either active or quiet activities that are adult supervised.

GOALS
  • Maintaining a balanced program with academic, enrichment, athletic and relaxation activities.
  • Offering a curriculum with thematic plans and activities that is staff developed with input from faculty, parents and children.
  • Provide a cultural enrichment opportunity for children to explore and use their imagination.
  • Provide time for children to relax, stretch their bodies and minds, and explore their own interests.
  • Encourage children to make decisions, learn how to play cooperatively, and learn how to solve problems peacefully.
