INFORMATION

Attendance

Any day the child is absent from the program, but not absent from school, parents need to notify the Afterschool Program before noon that day. If on any day a student has not attended the regular school program, he\she is not eligible to attend the Afterschool program on that day.

Change Schedule Form(.pdf)

The form must be submitted in advance for changes in scheduled time.

Discipline Guide

The goal of the Chandler Afterschool Program is to leach children to solve problems peacefully. The Chandler School reserves the right to dismiss a child whose conduct or influence is unsatisfactory, or, in the opinion of the Afterschool Director, is not in the best interest of the program.

Emergency Forms

Emergency information forms have to be kept current. Parents need to notify The Chandler Afterschool Director regarding any physical concerns, allergies or limitations a student may develop, or changes in phone numbers.

Faculty

The Afterschool Program Faculty consists of experienced, qualified educators and professionals that is dedicated to quality child care. The faculty/student ratio is 1:15.

Homework

Homework supervision will be offered daily between 2.00p.m. and 5.30p.m. Faculty will provide assistance if needed. A homework contract needs to be filled out and signed by the parent and the student.

Hours

The Afterschool Program is open from 2:00p.m. to 6p.m. each day.

Late Pick-Up Procedure

Parents need to pick up their children at the individual specific pick-up time. Should a parent be unable to reach the center at this time, arrangements must be made for other eligible guardians to pick up the student from the program. Failure to pick-up the child at the specific pick-up time could result in a late pick-up fee of $15.00 per quarter hour.

Medication

If you have a child who is taking medication during after school program, both, the parent or legal guardian and the physician must provide the director of the program with a written authorization that enables faculty to give the necessary medication to the child. The information should include medication being taken, the current dosage, and the time schedule by which the medication is to be taken. Medication must be in pharmacy original container and properly labeled.

Sick Child

Should a student become ill, or have fever, parents will need to come to the school and take the child home.

Sign In-Out Procedures

Children have to be signed in to the program each day by one of the parents/guardians or by one of the faculty of the program. Parents/guardians have to sign out their child on a daily basis. If a student is being picked up on an occasional basis by an adult not known to the Afterschool Program, a note from the parent authorizing pick upon a specific date must be received by the Afterschool Program faculty at pick up.
