DIRECTOR

Mrs. Alycia Brown
Mrs. Brown is a physical education teacher at Chandler School and has been involved with the after-school program for 1 year. She graduated from Cal State Bakersfield with a degree in liberal studies with a concentration in elementary physical education. Mrs. Brown has over 7 years experience working with after school and tutoring programs. Mrs. Brown is currently working towards a masters degree. Her goal while working with the afterschool program is to implement an after-school dance program and a fitness club.


FACULTY

Ms. Heather Ashton
Heather's, education thus far has primarily been in Health Science. For over seven years, Heather has been a massage therapist. Heather implements the Junior Achievement curriculum as well as Math and Literature games and cooking into the afterschool program. Currently she is pursuing a teaching credential from Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena.

Ms. Taryn Bayer
This is Ms. Bayer's third year as the Lower School Science Teacher at the Chandler School. Before her days at Chandler, she worked as a Naturalist and Educational Program Director for the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority. Her responsibilities included leading outdoor education programs for at risk youth and running an environmental summer day camp out of Temescal Gateway Park in Pacific Palisades. She was awarded a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara, for Aquatic Biology, and a Master of Arts degree in Forestry from Duke University.

Ms. Rebecca Bonnel
This is Ms. Bonnel's second year working at the Chandler Afterschool program. Before coming to Chandler, Rebecca tutored special need's children one on one inside the classroom as well as privately, mentored junior high students, and was a counselor at Mount Hermon camp in Santa Cruz. She was awarded her Bachelor's of Arts Degree from Vanguard University of Southern California and is currently working on her Masters Degree in Human Development at Pacific Oaks COllege in Pasadena.

Mr. John McCarty
Mr. McCarty has been on the Chandler faculty for twenty years. For the first three years he was an assistant teaching in grades one through five. He then became a first grade teacher, a position he held for 14 years. For the past two years he has been teaching third grade. He also works as a volunteer in the Education Department at the Aquarium of the Pacific two weekends a month. <

Ms. Diana Moore
Diana Moore grew up in Pasadena. During high school she volunteered at many after school programs and summer camps. After graduating from high school, she studied Early Childhood Education at the Pasadena City College. In 2003, Diana started here at Chandler and is continuing her education in school age care and administration.

Mrs. Carol Standing
Mrs. Standing officially made Chandler her home as a Kindergarten assistant in 1987, even she came as a parent in 1983. Since then she has had two children attend THe Chandler School expanding twenty years. Carol earned a B.A. in Education from Brigham Young University and then went on to CSUN for two additional years. She loves interacting with children and has worked in the Chandler Afterschool program from the beginning.

Mrs. Linda Stevenson
This is Mrs. Stevenson's 11th year at the Chandler School. Currently she is an Educational Associate in the Resource Center. Mrs. Stevenson has three sons, two grown and one in college. Mrs. Stevenson is supervising the study room for the Chandler Afterschool Program on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
