Computer Recycling
As technology becomes integrated with our Middle School community there is a growing concern about the environmental impact of old computers, computer parts and other electronic products that we use.
We are pleased to offer you a variety of resources to assist you with properly disposing of your unwanted technology.
Chandler School itself annually recycles old hardware using local e-waste recycling companies. This process happens over the course of each summer, with a pick-up day happening in August. This year we intend to open the day up to the school community, inviting Chandler families to easily drop off old equipment. When finalized we will make an announcement in the Cloverleaf and on this page.
We encourage everyone to REUSE or RE-PURPOSE old computers whenever possible. Sites like Ecogeek.org have tutorials for reusing and parting-out your old hardware.
The Technology department at Chandler can accept old laptops year-round to be refurbished or used for parts. In addition you may sell your old equipment on the Internet. Sites like
Ebay,
Craigslist,
and Yahoo! Auctions
provide convienient venues for selling or "parting out" your old equipment.
