Hundreds turned out to celebrate the successful culmination of Chandler's South Campus fundraising campaign and the school's 65th anniversary on Friday, May 13. Dignitaries on hand to congratulate the school included Pasadena Mayor and past Chandler parent Terry Tornek, City Councilmember Tyron Hampton, and Congresswoman Judy Chu.

Head of School John Finch noted that for 65 years, Chandler has stayed true to its founding mission to deliver the most academically-challenging education within a framework of core ethical values: respect, trustworthiness, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship.

"Today, we are more diverse than we were 65 years ago, and today we have more technology than we had 65 years ago, but these core tenets remain the same," Finch reflected. "We will continue to learn and improve as a school for the next 65 years."

A dedicated and passionate team of Chandler supporters toasted to the completion of the South Campus campaign. Candy Renick thanked her friends and colleagues for their unwavering leadership. Looking back, Renick admitted that when they launched the campaign in 20008, there were some doubts about its feasibility.

Today, the gorgeous new south campus buildings are a testament to this team's vision, leadership and commitment to the future of Chandler School and its mission.

Chris Waldheim ('81) and current Chandler parent, reflected on the history of the school, "Chandler prepares each student to be the best version of themselves, to achieve more than just a career, to be more than just a title. Chandler alumni are well-rounded individuals, who have a love of learning, and are always reaching for the next level of excellence. We are risk takers and problem-solvers who contribute to the community for a better society."
