Chandler strives to offer qualified applicants access to an independent school education. Financial aid supports Chandler’s mission of valuing racial, religious, cultural and economic differences and of serving the greater community, in recognition that as much is given to us, much is expected from us.
We seek students from diverse backgrounds who will succeed in the highest quality and most academically challenging program. We expect that all students admitted to Chandler will participate with their family in the school community.
The primary responsibility for financing education rests with the family. Families are encouraged to apply for financial aid only after they have used as much of their own resources as possible. Financial aid will make up the difference between the cost of a Chandler education and the expected family contribution.
Chandler’s financial aid committee looks at financial aid applications only after a decision has been made to admit a student to the school. Chandler’s admissions committee is never aware of applicants applying for financial aid. However, applicants who have qualified for admission may not qualify for financial aid.
Aid is granted on the basis of family financial need. The Board of Trustees sets the financial aid budget annually. Financial aid is offered on an annual basis. Families must apply every year. Need is assessed following an analysis of confidential information the family submits to Chandler’s director of finance through FAST (Financial Aid for School Tuition) system.
It is Chandler’s policy that no student shall receive 100% financial aid. Each family is expected to make an appropriate contribution based on financial ability.
