Financial Aid

Chandler School strives to offer qualified students access to an independent school education. Financial Aid supports Chandler’s Mission of building and sustaining a diverse, equitable and inclusive community. Chandler seeks students from all backgrounds who will succeed in the highest quality and academically challenging program. We expect all students admitted to Chandler to participate with their families in the school community.
  • The primary responsibility for financing education rests with the family. Families are encouraged to apply for financial aid only after they have used as much of their own resources as possible. Financial aid is available to all students, may be granted on the basis of demonstrated financial need and makes up the difference between the cost of a Chandler education and the expected family contribution.
  • It is Chandler’s policy that no student shall receive 100% financial aid.  Each family is expected to make an appropriate contribution based on financial ability.
  • Chandler operates a need-blind admissions policy. Chandler’s Financial Aid Committee reviews financial aid submitted applications only after a decision has been made to admit a student.
  • Awards are given for one school year and are not guaranteed for subsequent years. Therefore, families must submit an application for financial aid for each year they need assistance.
  • The financially responsible parties that signed the Enrollment Contract must complete an application through FAST (Financial Aid for School Tuition) in order to determine eligibility.
  • To be considered for a financial aid award, all financial aid applications and supporting documents must be submitted on or before the stated deadline, which is January 6, 2023 for the 2023-2024 school year.
  • Applicants who have qualified for admission may not qualify for financial aid. Financial aid may not be awarded for those families whose applications demonstrate household expenses that exceed household income unless a sufficient written explanation is provided to the Financial Aid Committee.
  • The above Financial Aid need-based award covers a percentage of the total tuition due. This percentage will be applied to other school fees to help support the overall cost of your student’s education. Other school fees may include Outdoor Education, Summer@Chandler, Holiday/Spring Camps, and Chandler Extended Care (not Enrichment Classes or CEC Drop-in fees). You do not need to request additional support, a discounted price will be applied upon registering for the program(s).
  • Appeals are emailed to the Director of Finance and reviewed by the Financial Aid Committee for additional consideration.
  • Each student and family who receives financial aid must maintain satisfactory progress once in school and is expected to exhibit appropriate behavior at all times.
