Celebrating Creativity: A Recap of ArtWorks 2024

ArtWorks, an annual celebration of creativity and expression, took place on April 25.

This year's event was particularly special as it brought together families from across the entire school community to engage in a collaborative art piece, highlighting the profound value of art in our lives.

The essence of ArtWorks goes beyond showcasing artwork; it embodies the power of art to unite, inspire and communicate. Through various mediums such as paintings, sculptures and digital art, students showcased their unique perspectives, experiences and emotions, creating a vibrant tapestry of creativity.

One of the highlights of this year's ArtWorks was the community art project. Families, students, and faculty members came together to contribute to a collective masterpiece, symbolizing the unity and diversity within our school community. This collaborative effort not only fostered a sense of belonging and togetherness but also underscored the transformative impact of collective creativity.

“Art has the power to inspire, provoke thought and ignite change, making events like ArtWorks invaluable in nurturing a community that values and celebrates creativity,” says Art Department Chair Julie Zemel. Art Educators Ms. Zemel and Mr. Chatham were reminded of art's profound role in shaping our identities, fostering connections and enriching students’ lives.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the dedicated Chandler families whose unwavering support and tireless efforts made ArtWorks 2024 a resounding success. This monumental undertaking, from setup to execution, all within a single day, would not have been possible without the invaluable contributions of our amazing parent volunteers. Your commitment to fostering a vibrant community and creating memorable experiences for our students is truly commendable.
