Chandler's A teams excelled in Middle School interscholastic competition this year, claiming an unprecedented eight league titles.

Chandler was named league champions in girls' basketball, golf, soccer and softball and in boys' basketball, golf, swimming and volleyball.

Last week, seventh and eighth grade students were honored in the Sports Awards ceremony for participating on A or B sports teams. Special recognition went to those student-athletes who played six sports over two years, and 5-Sport awards went to the very dedicated girls and boys who played five sports in their eighth grade year (pictured).

The 5-sport boys: Marcos Moline, Zach Bechthold, Ben Lee, Dylan Tracy-Lindenbaum, Brandon Szeto, Aden Lee, and Gaurav Law.

The 5-sport girls: Ariana Stavropoulos, Heather Thomasian, Courtney Gangi, Emma Stellar, Eryn Mitchell, Madison Bradford, and Olivia Bulow.

Chandler's athletic director, Mr. Anderson, praised all the students for their effort, coachability, teamwork and sportsmanship, and recognized the 5-Sport winners for stretching beyond their athletic comfort zone to learn new sports in order to help their teammates and their school.

Congratulations to all Middle School student athletes. Eight new league championship banners will be mounted on the gym wall to celebrate Chandler's 2016-17 athletic success.
