Chandler’s K-8 art teachers, Julie Zemel and Travis Chatham, are thrilled to again lead our own school chapter of the National Junior Art Honor Society. This year, 23 students were inducted as members, in an evening ceremony and reception last week.
A beautiful new show of their artwork now is on display in the library.
Last week, the Junior Art Honor Society took a private, guided tour of the ArtCenter College of Design, a nationally-renowned leader in art and design right here in our Pasadena community.

Chandler’s visual arts program exposes all students in grades K-8 to a wide range of techniques and increasingly-sophisticated art and design skills. Students learn to creatively express themselves and their ideas through the artistic process.
