Eighth Grade Presents "Stand Up for Something"

Last week, Chandler's eighth grade class produced Stand Up For Something, an evening event for parents and friends to celebrate justice and the civil rights activists who have fought for equality among marginalized groups in America.
The outstanding guest speaker, TerrenceRoberts, was a member of the Little Rock Nine, a group of high-school students who integrated Central High School in Arkansas in 1957. Students sang, danced, read their written work, performed music, and created visual displays of historic leaders and civil rights movements in American history. The evening was the culmination of a justice unit jointly taught by history teacher Joe Spencer and English teacher Donna Dretzka.
