Head of School Circle Donor Event at the Carnegie Observatories

Chandler hosted donors to the Annual Fund at the Head of School Circle level at the Carnegie Observatories last Saturday.

Chandler hosted donors to the Annual Fund at the Head of School Circle level at a special event last Saturday. At the Carnegie Observatories, families enjoyed lunch, a facility tour, and a talk from Director Dr. John Mulchaey about recent astronomical discoveries and the Giant Magellan telescope being designed on-site.

Children explored the skies through a solar telescope, toured the working lab, saw an interactive super-nova demonstration, discerned the elements with special spectrometer glasses and viewed hot and cold surfaces through an infrared camera.

Through a community partnership, Chandler students this year have enjoyed presentations from several of the Carnegie Observatories scientists in their classrooms, and we are excited to extend the school's relationship with this unique educational organization in coming years.

Thank you to the generous donors at the Head of School Circle level for supporting our school! A photo gallery of the event is HERE.
