Joyce Mitamura ’80

Joyce Mitamura ‘80 grew up in Pasadena in the 1970s and 1980s, attending Chandler, Westridge and Poly. She spent much of her twenties living and working in Tokyo and eventually moved back to LA to go to graduate school.

She was fortunate to reconnect with Chandler when her daughter was accepted into kindergarten in 2007. She joined the CFA and even eventually became the CFA President. She subsequently joined Chandler’s Alumni Council and was blessed to serve as Council President when her daughter Yumi graduated from Chandler in 2016. 

Today, Joyce spends her time teaching Japanese to children and getting together with her Chandler mom friends.
