One of my favorite things to do over winter break is to peruse the best-of lists. Each year at the end of December, multiple best books of the year lists are released. This year more than ever, the choices are stellar. In this three-part series, I will share a few of my favorites from various categories. This week I’ll share a few of my favorite picture books of 2020.
Early in March, hospitals were quickly overwhelmed by the pandemic, causing a crisis-level scarcity of personal protective equipment (PPE), particularly masks. Masks that were typically disposed of after each patient were being worn for up to a week. The CDC issued guidance to healthcare workers to wear a bandana while caring for patients.
Invited by Chandler Fine Arts Chair Julie Zemel, Mr. John Ziqiang Wu met virtually with Ms. Zemel's and Mr. Chatham's 6th- and 7th-Grade art classes on December 2, as well as the whole middle school during activity periods.
