Meet Chandler's New Faculty

Chandler hired five talented and experienced new faculty members over the summer. Meet our wonderful new teachers:
Cameron Edwards, Kindergarten Teaching Assistant
Cameron earned a BA in communications at George Fox University in Oregon. As a Pasadena native, she taught in the Pasadena Unified School District and last year she was a substitute teacher at Chandler School. Her hobbies include films, hiking in the local mountains, crafting, and spending time with her family. She is thrilled to join Chandler as she has always loved and admired the school.
 
James Foster-Keddie, Second Grade Teaching Assistant
James holds a BA from Tufts University and has studied at Otis College of Art and Design, the British American Dramatic Academy, Upright Citizen’s Brigade, and Molten Metal Works. He has been teaching for 11 years, including SAT/ACT test strategy and substitute teaching grades K-12. He has also worked in a t-shirt start-up and has performed for video games, animation, film and television. His hobbies include art, backpacking, basketball and video games.
 
Laura Heany, Fourth Grade Teacher
Laura received her BA degree from Cal State Northridge and taught for 19 years at Joaquin Miller Elementary School in Burbank, a California Distinguished School. Laura recently served as a teaching assistant at Chandler for the 2015-16 school year, and then taught at High Point Academy for the 2016-2017 school year. She enjoys spending time at the beach, reading and cooking.
 
Ziana Bagot, Fifth Grade Teaching Assistant
Ziana earned her BA in psychology, with a minor in Hispanic studies, from Carnegie Mellon University. Currently, she is working towards a MA degree in education at Mount St. Mary's University in Los Angeles. Prior to Chandler, she worked as a substitute science teacher at Harvard-Westlake Middle School and also was employed as a private tutor for several years. For fun, she enjoys practicing yoga and going for long runs.
 
Arpa Ghazarian, Eighth Grade Science Teacher
Arpa graduated from UCLA with a BSc and earned an MA in secondary science education from Cal State Northridge. Arpa previously taught at Mirman School for Gifted Children for 13 years. In addition to teaching middle school classes, Arpa was science chair and robotics director, coaching Mirman’s robotics and STEM teams in national competitions.
