Lauren Craig Albrecht ’85

Lauren Craig Albrecht ‘85 followed her longtime dream of becoming a therapist and obtained a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University after becoming a parent and witnessing the mental health crises unfolding. As an associate marriage and family therapist (AMFT #135201) in a group private practice in Pasadena, she uses a research-based, holistic approach and focuses on empowering teens, young adults, and parents to develop healthy coping skills in today’s challenging, post-pandemic environment. Lauren attended Skidmore College, where she played on the Division III Women’s Soccer Team. She attributes her love of sports to Mr. Mac, who encouraged her to be active in “all the sports the boys play.”

With a Bachelor of Arts in French and Art History, Lauren lived and worked deep in the heart of France, perfecting her French, and giving tours of a medieval castle. She returned to Los Angeles and received a Master of Science in Gerontology and a Master of Health Administration from USC. In Washington, DC, Lauren worked as a healthcare policy analyst for several institutions, including AARP and the American Heart Association. She has volunteered in numerous capacities at her children’s schools and is currently a member of the board of trustees at Cate School, an independent boarding school in Carpinteria.

Lauren was eager to return to Chandler -- to give back to the school that shaped the academic, athletic, and social aspects of her life. She served as the President of Chandler's Alumni Council & Association from 2013 to 2015. Lauren and her husband, Michael, have two children, Maggie ’21 and Alexander ’17, who live in Pasadena.
