TJ Young ’96

TJ Young ‘96  joined the Chandler community in 6th grade, and, to this day, he claims that the three years he spent at Chandler were some of the best years of his life. He married Erin Kaneko '96. After spending four years in Japan together and traveling through Asia, Melanesia and Polynesia, TJ and Erin are now raising their four young children in Bellevue, WA.  While they miss Chandler and the incredible community, the Pacific Northwest has been a wonderful adventure the entire family continues to enjoy. 

TJ earned a B.A. in Sociology from the University of California at San Diego in 2005 and an M.A. in International Relations with a focus on internet marketing from Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan, in 2009. TJ recently earned a Certificate in Digital Marketing from the University of Washington. TJ is currently co-chair of the St. Thomas School Friends of the Falcons committee, whose purpose is to support and grow the athletics program. In fact, the boys volleyball team at Chandler was started with direct influence from TJ while he was a student. Further feeding his love for volleyball, TJ was able to work with the new St. Thomas School athletic director and this year will be the first year that St. Thomas School has a middle school boys volleyball team and TJ will be a coach!

Since earning his PADI certification, TJ loves to scuba dive whenever possible. He also enjoys lap swimming, organizing social events, and spending time with his family.  And software updates...he definitely loves software updates.
